Onsite Wastewater Treatment System Consulting
About
Onsite wastewater treatment systems, more commonly known as septic systems, are an essential component of suburban and rural living and are, therefore, the first requirement in any kind of parcel development. Correct assessment and planning for the septic system for homes and businesses ensures the safe disposal of sewage while protecting your property investment, groundwater, and local ecosystems.
My goal is to help homeowners understand the type of system their parcel can support and streamline the approval process under their local regulatory standards.
Process
Onsite Consultation
The first step in the process is an onsite meeting (called a Site and Soil or soil profile inspection) along with an excavator and the local regulatory agency. This will determine:
The parameters for a repair to an existing septic system
A plan for a new septic system for an ADU, addition to an existing residence, or new construction.
In most jurisdictions, approved onsite wastewater plans are required before building plans can be approved.
Design
Using the data collected from our onsite meeting, customized septic system plans will be designed to the specifications of your parcel. These will be drafted to meet your specific needs and then submitted for approval to your local jurisdiction. After approval, the plans can be sent to your septic contractor for installation.
Installation Inspections
and System Certification
Inspections are conducted during the installation process to ensure all components are properly constructed. A final certification of the system will be issued to the regulatory jurisdiction upon satisfactory completion of the installation.
